Research Projects
Here are listed some of the research and development projects being conceived within the context of the Professional Master’s in Informatics in Education at IFRS in Porto Alegre.
Orion Services
Orion Services are a set of open-source services and applications designed to support the development of collaborative educational systems. Some examples of services include:
Users - an identity, authentication, and a uthorization service for students within the Orion platform services. Talk - a service for synchronous and asynchronous message exchange between students. Bot - a Discord chatbot capable of coordinating a collaborative pedagogical activity among students.
Additionally, the Orion Services project also features a set of user interface components written in Nuxt and Vue to facilitate the integration of backend services with Web/Mobile applications.
The project is developed collaboratively and openly, and anyone can contribute to the development of services and applications. To learn more, visit the project page:
Xô Dengue
Xô Dengue is a collaborative educational board game aimed at teaching children and adolescents in a fun way about combating the Aedes aegypti mosquito, responsible for the spread of dengue.
The game was developed as a result of a study on Cooperative Learning during the course of two disciplines of the Professional Master’s in Informatics in Education (MPIE) at the Federal Institute of Education, Science, and Technology of Rio Grande do Sul (IFRS) in Porto Alegre.
